THE LITTLE BIG THINGS

Some things are Often times taken for granted because we attach less importance to them. Not because we deliberately want to, but because we tend not to see the need to consider these things as important as other life essentials. We all love to be respected, appreciated and recognised for our little efforts, services provided, assistance given, food well cooked, job etc. How often do you hear or use  these words 'please' and 'thank you' in your dealings with  people. For me I think it is rarely because a lot of times people are too busy and lost in their own worlds to acknowledge the need for these magic words. The importance of please and thank you can never be overemphasised. here are few I know of.
Using these two magic words open doors for you, even if the doors you're after are not opened immediately, it is  definitely not going to be long before they're finally opened to you. Using these words rightly makes you look responsible (even if you're not). It shows you have a sense of responsibility which also means you're worth dealing with, be it in having a meaningful conversation or business venture or any thing at all that requires some level of responsibility to take up.

No one needs your ego, pride or 'do you know who I am' attitude, just use them because they are simple and saves everybody some time.
It's infectious when used rightly. People around you will notice how different you are and will want to      inculcate that in to themselves especially when they notice the 'wonders' they 'perform'.
It shows your respectful side. Which makes you even a more  attractive being.
It also shows you acknowledge the other party's authority and ability to either refuse or grant what you are either asking for or offering which psychologically registers a positive or a yes signal, creating an opportunity for a potential 'transaction'.
What are the possible limitations  the non usage or wrong usage of these magic words bring to us?      The limitations are complete opposite of the positives that happen as a result. Firstly, they automatically shut doors. These Doors could be the ones you have complete control over, or partially in control of. When please and thank you are not rightly  used, there would be definite refusals,  or delays in propositions, requests, and assistance sought. You automatically kill the individual's zeal because those negative vibes and signals are alerted.  It makes you look  irresponsible (even when you are not and genuinely have the best intentions). And it most times succeeds in making people look irresponsible.
The appropriate use of please and thank you does not depend on what you do, where you live or who you are.  They can be  said in diverse languages/dialects making it  universally possible.  When the habit is formed, incorporating these magic words rightly becomes a second nature.
Why not start now to practice the appropriate use of please and  thank you  in your day to day activities!
Let's Do it!!!

  1. This is so true Laura. Just like ur last post attitude, please and thank you are just a can't do without! They are liitle big things indeed! Mostly overlooked, but just as they are called, " the magic words", they do a lot of magic that u cannot begin to fathom!
"It is said charity begins at home! Our children are our future hopes. Even if u didn't get to learn that from ur homes as kids, u could still inculcate that in ur children now that u have the chance! For example, I get drawn to kids who show gestures when I extend love to them-which is so rare these days! Let's help and teach our children the right things. By so doing,we will only be sowing good seeds in their lives which we will eventually reap! #The First and Only Lady#
