Our
thoughts have great impact on us both emotionally and physically. Any
time we give room to negative thoughts, our bodies react in certain ways as if
they were in the throes of a tension-filled situation. On the other hand
if you see well about yourself you are more likely to feel good. I know
for sure that there's no "one size fits all" solution to managing
stress, so it's great to experiment with different techniques and strategies,
the aim is to focus on what makes you feel calm and in controlHave you noticed certain people around you who seem to cope with whatever life throws at them? And also others who crumble in the face of adversity and challenges? The key might be in the face of features called resilience. We all have varying levels of resilience which has direct impact on our ability to cope and respond to stressful events as well as our determination to complete a task or generally see something through to its conclusion no matter the significant amount of pressure we face. One thing we are blessed with is the possession of ability to build and develop our levels of resilience over time.
Because I know life will never get easier, there are certain areas of your lives which when you work on and develop your resilience, you get better as an individual to deal with the challenges and difficulties you encounter daily in your life journey. Here are some of them:
Self-belief:
having the self-confidence and mind-set to manage any difficult situations.
This gives you the understanding that you have the capability to succeed no
matter the challenges that life throws at you.
Having that vision and purpose: when you know what you believe in and have clear idea of what you want to accomplish, you stay more In control no matter the challenges you encounter along the way.
Resolving problems: being able to resolve problems and find solutions to them makes it possible for you to enjoy challenges caused by adverse events.

Adaptability and
Flexibility: having the ability to respond with flexibility to
challenges both known and unknown by discovering ways of dealing and overcoming
events as well as adapt quickly to a changing environment.
Your networks and
social connections: it’s important to have a strong network which you can rely on
sometimes, to share ideas and insights, share problems, solutions, dreams,
hopes, and for cheering up when you are
overwhelmed, etc.
Organisational
skills: it is also
very important to have a structured approach to tasks that need to be done
because it will help you to stay in control in the event of potential chaos or
any uncontrollable external events as a matter of fact.
Your awareness
and interpersonal skills: being able to understand and empathise with others is
another way of building a high level of self and social awareness which in turn
will help you to manage yourself, how you react to events and your
relationships with others.
Commitment to
Praying: walking
the earth each day without the recognition of your spirituality is as good as
saying someone is an empty vessel. Praying to God is and will remain the best
way to build your resilience; you become spiritually alert and take control of
your real self-inside, no matter what your environment is saying which will
eventually control your physical being and all that is around you.
Have your
most beautiful week yet. X
So fulfilling and inspiring. Have an awesome week too.

ReplyDeleteLaura! I'm a columnist with a London renowned newspaper I have came across your threads recently and this one really caught my attention whilst positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health. Practice overcoming negative self-talk is the key to for anyone to build a successful, physical and a well groomed healthy mind.

One cannot overemphasize the power of thought and its effect on the human body! I really appreciate this article because I recently read a book about 'thought' in which thought is known to cause corresponding vibrations in the the mind, and these play upon us, setting up in our mental bodies sympathetic vibrations which then affect our consciousness. .....The vibration is the attracting and repelling of 'things' based on our thought either being negative or positive because our consciousness consists of the alternating assertion and negation, e.g, "I am this", "I am not this". It's therefore obvious how much we can reduce stress by having positive thoughts.
ReplyDeleteYour article makes a lot of sense Laura! I like the point 'adaptability and flexibility'. We need that in our country Nigeria, where the system does not favour majority of the citizens. Talking about Power supply, we hardly see lights. So tell me, how would one survive mentally in a situation where everywhere is dark and hot! You hardly would be productive! That's why we need to adapt and be flexible in every situation; that would help keep your hopes alive that your situation must surely get better! But if you allow the situation to overwhelm you, you will never make it! To him that's joined to the living, there's hope!
ReplyDeleteGOD says 'you have whatsoever you say'! We need to speak the right words to every situation we find ourselves! Situations I have come to believe, respond to 'spoken words', whether negative words or positive words! Speak against the negative imaginations of the dark mind that say you can't! Great article Laura! Very inspiring and life changing indeed!

ReplyDeleteWhat an inspirational outlook! your words of wisdom truly motivate me to continue to focus and stay positive. As ones of my favorite verses in the Bible states in Corinthians 4:16-18 "16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." XXX Kira XXX
