MY MOTHER

My mother is a rare gem
She nurtured me from womb
since then she hasn't stopped nuturing
she stayed awake at nights just to be sure I was fine
she fed me and made sure I never lacked
she scolded me when I was wrong
she made sure I understood the reason behind the chiding
she cares for others and impacts wisdom
she never shys away from the truth
she is a great helper to my Father
She works so hard
she tries to understand at all times
she's not perfect
she's  human
She thought me patience
she thought me perseverance
she thought me reselience
she is my strength
her prayers keep me going
one thing I pray and know is
My mother will reap the fruits of her labour
I am sure about that
I have said it and so shall it be
because there's power in spoken words.
