A lot of people attribute silence to a lot of definitions. Some call it stillness, quietness, non uttering of words, etc. For me, silence is the state of keeping still, without any expression of audible sounds, it is the state of curtailing and suppressing the expression of (whatever it is). In life we are presented with diverse situations that often require us to be vocal, that is speak out, and other times we are presented with other situations where silence becomes the best way to deal with surrounding/existing issues as well as potential ones. it is important to know when to speak out and when to adopt silence, and this is where the true wisdom lies. How do you know when to speak and when not to? This is where your responsibility to rediscover who you are comes in to play. Whether you are at work, or at home or relating with any one, it is important to train yourself well enough to know when to speak and when not to. No one will teach you this- You need to teach yourself.
Alot of people prefer not to speak at all even when they are suffering in silence, don't be like that, I repeat, don't be like that. it is dangerous and unhealthy to suffer in silence. This is why it is extremely important to know the thin line between speaking at the right time and staying silent. When you understand the power of rightful silence, you learn the power of control. I am writing this from personal growth, and I believe some one out could desperately use this. it is not expedient to speak about every thing!!! Even my Bible emphasises the importance of self control, in other words the importance of making the right move at the right time in the book of proverbs 25 verse 28 which says that a man without self-control is like a city broken in to and left without walls.-This goes to show you the importance of silence.
I hope this makes someone's day. X

I share your views. But it requires a lot of patience...
ReplyDeleteLauz I think it's also cool to be vocal. Also I think Silence doesn't mean you are agreeing with the reason, but that you are grown up enough to say hey! I can handle stuff more responsibly. Ade
