THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR

I don't want to teach others and forget myself
I don't want to receive all the compliments on the outside but on the inside I'm horrible
I don't want to live a fake life on social media but at home and with my friends I am terrible
I don't want to correct others and refuse to be corrected myself

I don't want to see my views above others
I don't want to think I'm better than anyone
I don't want to preach the good deeds to others but refuse to live by the wonders
I don't want to always find faults in everyone

I want to learn to understand
I want to care a bit more
I want to live real no matter where I stand
I want to overlook faults and embrace love more

I want to treat people better
I want to shine brighter than diamond
I want to be a better person rather than bitter
I want to be a delight and filling when around like almond

Dear Lord, life sometimes is too busy for me to pause and retrospect.  I'm glad you've given me the opportunity to do that.  Help me in the midst of the noise of life to love my neighbour as I love myself and to treat others how I want to be treated.
